Brigadier General Shariful M Khan has been named Director of Staff for Golden Dome at the Pentagon. The role supports a top secret missile defence effort often called America’s Iron Dome.

Career path and experience of Brigadier General Shariful M Khan
Brig Gen Khan earned a commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 1997. Early service included space control launch and satellite operations with the National Reconnaissance Office.
Deployments followed to Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait in 2001 and again in 2007 as Deployment Commander for Operation Silent Sentry.
Commands include the 379th Space Range Squadron and the 310th Space Wing at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado.
As wing commander Brig Gen Khan directed operations and staff activity for about fifteen hundred personnel across nineteen units.
Staff service at the Office of the Secretary of Defense added joint policy experience that now supports the Golden Dome brief.
