Web Desk: Two Pakistan Army pilots were martyred on Monday after a Mushshak training aircraft crashed near Nawan Killi in Quetta, the military’s media wing said.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the aircraft went down around midday because of a technical fault. Both pilots aboard the aircraft died in the crash.

The military identified the deceased as Major Husnain Shehzad Humayun, an instructor pilot, and Captain Abdul Samad, a student pilot.

Both officers lost their lives in the incident, ISPR said, expressing the loss in terms of their sacrifice in the line of duty.

According to the military’s initial statement, a technical fault caused the Mushshak training aircraft to crash near Nawan Killi, an area of Quetta in Balochistan.

The statement did not provide further details about the circumstances of the crash or indicate whether a formal investigation had been initiated.

The Mushshak is used for basic pilot training.
