Web Desk: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has moved to strengthen police security by arranging modern armoured vehicles for the provincial police, with the vehicles set to be deployed in the province’s merged tribal districts, according to reports.
The vehicles have arrived at the Governor House in Peshawar ahead of a formal handover ceremony, sources said. The move comes as authorities continue efforts to improve security and maintain law and order in the province.
According to sources, the armoured vehicles will be handed over to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police at a formal ceremony. The sources added that each vehicle costs several crore rupees, although the total number of vehicles and the overall cost have not been disclosed.
The vehicles are expected to support police operations in the merged districts, where security personnel face challenging operational conditions.
Kundi has emphasised that maintaining peace and security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains a top priority.
The provision of modern armoured vehicles is intended to strengthen police capacity and improve operational readiness. However, officials have not yet announced a detailed deployment schedule or provided further information about the vehicles’ specifications.
The planned deployment reflects efforts to equip police personnel with improved protective resources in areas requiring enhanced security arrangements.
Once the handover takes place, further details about the number of vehicles, their distribution among districts and the implementation timeline may become available.
