Even so, the deal promises stronger investment, wider coverage, and better services for users across the country.
5G spectrum plan on track, legal issues monitored
Senators also sought clarity on the 5G spectrum auction timeline.
The PTA Chairman said the regulator is ready for a December auction, subject to pending legal matters.
There are no stay orders on the 2600 MHz band, but some court cases could still affect scheduling.
Law officers may be engaged to resolve issues faster. A timely auction would boost competition, attract capital, and improve digital inclusion.
With consolidation nearing closure and 5G preparation advancing, Pakistan’s telecom sector is moving toward a more efficient market and faster connectivity, building on recent reforms and industry cooperation.
