BANNU: In a shocking incident in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, unidentified assailants attacked the office of Peace Committee’s commander Qari Jaleel.
According to police and local sources, seven people lost their lives in the attack, while two others sustained serious injuries.
Police and rescue teams quickly reached the scene and transferred the deceased and injured to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ).

The victims include Usama, Sufyan, Muhammad Niaz, Muhammad Sufyan, Wali, Noman, and Master, while the injured have been identified as Kamran and Muhammad.
Authorities have launched an initial investigation, and the search for the attackers is ongoing. Sources said the attack could be linked to a personal feud or political motives, though no clear reason has yet emerged.
Hospital officials described the condition of the injured as critical and said they are receiving immediate medical attention. Reports indicate that several people were present in the office during the attack, during which gunfire and explosions were heard.
Locals remain fearful, and security has been tightened in the area. Police are investigating all possible angles and plan to release detailed findings to the public soon.
This incident represents a significant blow to peace and security in Bannu, raising concern at government levels. Both government and semi-government organizations in the region have strongly condemned the attack and expressed sympathy with the victims’ families.
