A joint intelligence-based operation (IBO) was carried out by police and security forces in Shad Khan Kallah, a suburban village of Jani Khel area in Bannu — 9 khawarij killed, one critically injured.
According to details, police and security forces conducted a joint operation in Shad Khan Kallah area of Bannu on the basis of intelligence regarding the presence of khawarij, effectively targeting their hideout.
During the operation, reports were received that 9 khawarij were killed while one militant was critically injured, sources said.
According to security sources, the khawarij killed in the operation were also involved in the recent terrorist attack on Fateh Khel police station and were being searched for.
A clearance operation is ongoing in the area, while the search for more facilitators and fleeing militants is still underway.
Under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam and the National Action Plan, khawarij and their facilitators are being hunted down and eliminated one by one.
