Second phase of Hajj 2026 applications opens for unregistered pilgrims

Web desk: The Ministry of Hajj has opened the second phase of Hajj 2026 applications, starting today, giving a chance to those who were unable to register earlier.

This phase will remain open from August 11 to 16, and applications will be accepted along with the first payment instalment.

The ministry has also confirmed that overseas Pakistanis can apply and make payments through designated banks.

Officials said that in the first phase, which ended on August 9. More than 71,000 applications were received through the online portal and nominated banks.

If the quota is not filled during the current phase, additional opportunities will be provided to complete it.

Pakistan has been allocated a total quota of 179,210 pilgrims for next year, out of which 129,210 seats are reserved for the government scheme. While the rest will be offered under private schemes.

For the long Hajj package, the first instalment is set at Rs500,000, while for the short Hajj, it is Rs550,000.

The process will be stopped immediately once the quota is complete.

Children under the age of 12 will not be allowed to travel for Hajj 2026. And all pilgrims must be vaccinated with a vaccination injection approved by Saudi Arabia.

Pilgrims will need to pay their Hajj expenses in two instalments. With the first payment set at Rs500,000 for the long package and Rs550,000 for the short package, to be made through designated banks.

Minister Yousaf stated that applicants must have valid Pakistani passports until at least 26 November 2026. And children below the age of 12 will not be permitted to perform Hajj this year.

He also confirmed that all pilgrims must receive vaccines approved by the Saudi authorities.

He added that the ‘Road to Makkah’ programme will continue to operate from Islamabad and Karachi airports. And overseas Pakistanis will be able to send Hajj payments to nominated bank accounts under the scheme.

The policy also requires pilgrims to make animal sacrifice payments through Saudi Arabia’s official system.
