There are various reports circulating regarding contacts between the government and the Opposition Leader, claiming that early elections were discussed in the meeting. Some media reports have also mentioned this possibility. However, well-informed sources have strongly denied these claims.
According to sources, early elections will neither be discussed nor is there any possibility of such a discussion in the proposed meeting between the government delegation and the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly. The meeting is expected to focus only on important national and political matters.
Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai has already informed the leadership of PTI about the contacts made by government figures so that future strategy can be decided through mutual consultation.
Furthermore, reports are also emerging regarding backchannel contacts, suggesting that early elections have either already been discussed between the government and the opposition or that the matter will be taken up in the upcoming meeting. However, sources have clarified that all such reports are baseless, fabricated, and contrary to facts.
It is worth noting that the meeting between the government and the opposition has yet to take place, and the speculation being spread about early elections is merely based on rumors and has no truth to it
