Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a major relief package for farmers in the province in response to the international crisis and rising global oil prices.
She clarified that the government will provide direct financial assistance to small wheat farmers to protect them from the effects of inflation.
Under this relief package, all farmers in Punjab who own up to 25 acres of land and cultivate wheat will be allocated 10 liters of diesel per acre, provided at a special discounted rate of PKR 150 per liter.
The Chief Minister will personally supervise this subsidy system to ensure that the relief reaches eligible farmers directly and transparently.
In her statement, Maryam Nawaz described farmers as the “backbone of Punjab’s economy” and assured that she stands with them to safeguard their rights during difficult times.
