Rain expected in several cities of Punjab

Web Desk: Pakistan’s meteorological authorities forecast rain and thunderstorms in several regions on Thursday while warning that intense heat will continue across most major cities, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said.

The Met Office said most districts in Punjab will remain extremely hot. However, it added that isolated rain is likely in Lahore, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot and Narowal.

In Islamabad and surrounding areas, daytime temperatures will stay high. Meanwhile, strong winds, thunderstorms and rain are expected during the night.

Hot and dry conditions persist in KP, Sindh, Balochistan

The department said most districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience hot and dry weather. It warned that southern districts may face severe heat.

However, it forecast isolated rain in parts of Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Kohat, Peshawar and Malakand.

In Sindh, a severe heatwave is expected to continue across most districts. Balochistan will also remain largely hot and dry.

Weather experts urged citizens to take precautionary measures during the ongoing heatwave. They warned that extreme temperatures could pose serious health risks.
