Web Desk: All educational boards in Punjab province will begin announcing annual examination results from Aug. 6, starting with the 10th grade, as authorities move to restore permanent leadership at the province’s examination boards after more than three years.
According to the announced schedule, the 10th class (matric) results will be declared on Aug. 6, followed by the 9th class results on Sept. 2. The 12th class (intermediate) results will be released on Sept. 23, while the 11th class results will be announced on Oct. 22.
Meanwhile, Punjab has completed the process of selecting permanent chairmen for its nine educational boards, ending a gap of around three-and-a-half years during which the institutions operated without permanent heads, according to official sources.
The selected candidates’ names have been forwarded to the competent authority for the issuance of formal appointment notifications, which could be released at any time.
Previously, the boards had functioned under acting chairmen, with the respective divisional commissioners overseeing administrative affairs because permanent appointments had remained vacant for three to four years.
According to the sources, Prof. Tahir Mahmood of Bahauddin Zakariya University has been selected as chairman of the Rawalpindi Board, while Dr. Aqsa Shabbir has been chosen for the Faisalabad Board.
Similarly, Dr. Badr-ul-Islam has been selected for the Lahore Board, Dr. Rana Binyamin for the Multan Board, Iqbal Mahmood for the Sargodha Board, Ishtiaq Ahmad for the Gujranwala Board, Dr. Ahmad Muneeb for the Sahiwal Board, Dr. Naseem for the Bahawalpur Board, and Abbas Haider for the Dera Ghazi Khan Board.
Sources said authorities have also prepared the names of alternate candidates in case any selected chairman declines to assume office.
In the next phase, the government will appoint permanent controllers of examinations and secretaries for the educational boards. Those key positions have also remained vacant for nearly three years, affecting the administrative and examination-related operations of the boards, according to the sources.
