Web Desk: The Pakistan Super League PSL will stage its 12th edition from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with all eight franchises set to return as the league builds toward another title race.
The Pakistan Cricket Board finalised the tournament window after consultations with franchise owners and other stakeholders during a PSL Governing Council meeting in London on Sept. 1, 2026.
The announcement gives franchises and players a clear timeline for the preparations ahead of the 2027 season, although several key details remain to be confirmed.
The league is expected to move into its player recruitment phase before the tournament begins, with direct signings, retention announcements, trades and the player auction among the major steps on the calendar.
However, the PSL has yet to release dates for those activities. Officials will also announce the complete fixture list, venues and ticketing details at a later stage.
The 2027 competition will follow a major change introduced in the previous season, when the PSL expanded to eight teams and shifted from its traditional player draft system to an auction model.
Peshawar Zalmi will enter PSL 12 as defending champions after securing their second title in the previous edition.
The franchise defeated first-time finalists Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final on May 3, 2026, ending a nine-year wait for another championship.
The final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium also set a new attendance mark for the league, with 32,461 spectators watching the title clash, according to PSL figures.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the board would work toward delivering another strong edition of the tournament.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer said announcing the tournament window marked the beginning of preparations for the 2027 season.
With the dates now confirmed, attention will shift to squad-building, player movements and the auction as the eight franchises begin shaping their campaigns for the next PSL title.
