Web Desk: National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has secured third place overall at Formula Student Türkiye 2026, marking a strong performance by its student engineering team against international university competitors.

The NUST team competed in the weeklong event, held from Sept. 21 to 27 at the TOSFED Körfez Race Track in İzmit, Türkiye, where university teams showcased their ability to design, develop and present formula-style racing cars.

NUST delivered its strongest result in the Cost and Manufacturing category, taking first place with a perfect score of 80 out of 80.

The team also finished third in Engineering Design, demonstrating its performance in technical development and vehicle engineering.

Meanwhile, NUST secured fifth place in the Business Plan Presentation, adding a commercial and management dimension to its overall competition performance.

Together, the results placed the Pakistani university among the leading teams at the international event.

Formula Student Türkiye brought together university teams from different countries to compete across static and dynamic engineering disciplines.

The competition featured both combustion or hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles, requiring participating teams to combine engineering design, manufacturing, cost management and business planning.

Against that international field, NUST’s third-place overall finish highlights the growing presence of Pakistani student engineers in global motorsport and automotive engineering competitions.

The result gives NUST another notable achievement on the international engineering stage and underscores the capabilities of Pakistan’s university-level engineering talent.

With top-five finishes across cost and manufacturing, engineering design and business planning, the NUST team demonstrated a combination of technical expertise and project management skills that helped it emerge as one of the leading competitors at Formula Student Türkiye 2026.
