ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has imposed an indefinite ban on Syed Fakhar Shah, Secretary of the Baseball Federation of Pakistan, for repeated violations of board regulations.
According to an official notification issued by the PSB, Fakhar Shah consistently breached the organization’s rules, leading to his suspension for an unspecified period. The notification stated that no team or individual is allowed to travel abroad for sporting events without obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the PSB. However, Fakhar Shah reportedly facilitated the departure of teams overseas without proper authorization.
The PSB further revealed that the Baseball Federation participated in events held in Malaysia and Chinese Taipei in August, allegedly submitting a fake NOC from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The board added that Fakhar Shah’s response to the show-cause notice issued on September 9 was unsatisfactory. As a result, he is now barred from taking part in any sports-related activities under the PSB’s jurisdiction.
The notification also mentioned that Syed Fakhar Shah has the right to appeal against the decision within 30 days.
