PEIRA warns unregistered ‘private schools’ in Islamabad

Private Educational Institutions Regularity Authority (PIERA) has decided to take strict action against unregistered private educational institutions in Islamabad.

According to a notification issued by PIERA, all private educational institutions in Islamabad have been directed to complete their registration or renewal of registration within 15 days. Institutions that fail to comply within the stipulated time will face strict disciplinary action.

The authority warned that action will be taken against defaulting institutions under Section 19,which may include fines, sealing of schools ,and other legal measures.

PIERA officials stated that these measures are being taken in the best interest of students and parents to ensure educational standards and compliance with legal requirements.

Officials added that action against illegally opening schools in Islamabad has already begun, and no institution will be considered above law.

Parents have been urged to enroll their children only in registered and approved educational institutions. The authority further clarified that the the regularity process has been made more stringent, and no leniency will be shown to unregistered private educational institutions in the future.

The Private Educational Intuitions Regularity Authority has announced a fixed annual schedule for the registration and renewal of private educational institutions in the Capital Territory. Under the new mechanism, all private institutions will be required to apply for renewal of registration between March 1 and April 30 each year
