US president Donald Trump cancels strikes on Iran

US president Donald Trump has said that Iran is eager to reach an agreement “at any cost,” adding that progress in this regard is ongoing.

Speaking at the White House, the US president claimed that “we have eliminated the Iranian leadership and are now talking to the right people who want to make a deal.”

He further stated that the United States has completely dismantled Iran’s war capabilities and continues to achieve success inside Iran.

Trump added that the current situation indicates movement toward an agreement, and that Iran appears serious about negotiations.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif said in a message on X that Pakistan fully supports dialogue in the interest of regional and global peace and stability.

He emphasized that negotiations are the only effective way to resolve conflicts and that immediate, meaningful talks are essential to de-escalate current tensions.

The prime minister added that Pakistan is not only supportive of the dialogue process but is also ready to play a practical role.

He reiterated Pakistan’s offer to host talks between the United States and Iran, stating that the country would be honored to facilitate such an important diplomatic effort, subject to mutual agreement by both sides.
