Web Desk: Pakistan have named their squads for the upcoming T20 and one-day international assignments, handing the T20 captaincy to Sahibzada Farhan while retaining Shaheen Shah Afridi as ODI skipper.

Farhan replaces Salman Ali Agha as captain of the 15-member T20 squad for Pakistan’s three-match home series against Sri Lanka.

All three T20 internationals will be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with the first match scheduled for Oct. 9, followed by games on Oct. 11 and Oct. 13.

Farhan will lead a squad that includes several established international players as well as emerging talent.

The squad comprises Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Arafat Minhas, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Nawaz, Muhammad Imran Randhawa, Khawaja Nafay, Maaz Sadaqat, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Razaullah, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Muqeem.

Khawaja Nafay has been included as the wicketkeeper, while Razaullah earns a place in the national T20 setup.

Shaheen Afridi will continue to lead Pakistan in the 50-over format as the team prepares for a seven-match tri-nation ODI series involving Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka.

The first three matches of the tournament will take place in Rawalpindi, while the remaining league fixtures and the final will be staged in Lahore.

The 16-member ODI squad includes Shaheen, Abrar Ahmed, Salman Ali Agha, Arafat Minhas, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Haris Rauf, Hasan Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Razaullah, Saad Baig, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Muqeem.

Pakistan have also confirmed their coaching and support staff for the upcoming assignments.

Mike Hesson will serve as head coach, with Shaun Tait as bowling coach and Michael Smith as batting coach. Mansoor Amjad has been appointed fielding coach.

Naveed Akram Cheema will continue as team manager. Shafqat Shabbir will handle media duties in Rawalpindi, while Syed Nazir Ahmed will serve as media manager in Lahore.

Colonel Usman Anwari has been named security manager, while Dr Wajid Ali Rifai will work as the team’s doctor.

The squad announcements set the stage for a busy home schedule, with Pakistan facing Sri Lanka in T20 cricket before turning to the ODI tri-series involving England and Sri Lanka.
