Speaking to Iranian media upon arrival in Moscow, Araqchi said he traveled to Russia to continue close coordination on regional and global issues. He confirmed that he is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin later in the day.
He said the meeting would provide an opportunity to review the progress of ongoing conflicts and assess the current situation. He added that continued consultation and coordination between Iran and Russia remain of particular importance.
Araqchi noted that discussions in Islamabad focused on past developments and specific conditions under which Iran-U.S. negotiations could proceed. He described the engagement with Pakistani authorities as constructive and beneficial.
Meanwhile, he said that during his recent visit to Oman, talks also covered the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway vital to global energy transit. Araqchi emphasized that Iran and Oman, as coastal states, must maintain close consultation, especially at a time when secure navigation through the passage has become a significant international concern.
He added that both countries share an interest in safeguarding mutual benefits and ensuring stability in the region. As neighboring coastal nations, he said, coordination remains essential in all relevant matters.
Araqchi also highlighted a high level of understanding between Iran and Oman, noting that both sides agreed to continue consultations at the expert level to address ongoing challenges and strengthen cooperation.
