Web desk: Pakistan has strongly rejected the recent UN report, saying it is based on unilateral and unverified claims from the so called Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The report lacks independent verification and does not reflect facts on the ground.
A Foreign Office spokesperson clarified that Pakistan has not targeted any civilian population inside Afghanistan. The spokesperson said that Pakistan’s operations were directed only against terrorist elements responsible for planning and executing attacks on Pakistan from Afghan soil.
These measures were taken under Pakistan’s legal right of self-defense as outlined in the UN Charter. Operations were based on credible intelligence and followed principles of proportionality and discrimination. Civilian populations were deliberately avoided.
The Foreign Office also rejected claims that civilians were affected during any operations. It said such assertions aim to protect groups that provide shelter and support to terrorists.
Pakistan called on the United Nations to produce reports based on verified, unbiased, and factual information. The country urged the UN to avoid presenting unilateral claims as a reflection of Pakistan’s official stance.
