Field Marshal Asim Munir recently held an informal discussion with journalists. He stated that Pakistan’s success is not due to any individual. Instead, it is a gift from Almighty Allah. He credited special divine mercy for the nation’s victory. This victory was achieved against a more powerful enemy.
The Field Marshal provided a historical example. He referred to the Battle of Badr (Ghazwa-e-Badr). Muslims at that time threw dust. This blinded the enemy forces. They achieved victory with Allah’s help. Similarly, he said, Pakistan has achieved eminence with God’s assistance.
The Army’s Faith and Mission
He emphasized the nature of Pakistan’s military. He called it an army that fights in the way of Allah. The soldiers stand in the field with sincere intention, faith, and conviction. He cited the Holy Quran’s promise. It states that people of truth with firm faith always prevail.
Commitment to Peace and Strength
The Field Marshal made a point about the nation’s character. He clarified that Pakistan is a peace-loving country. However, he gave a firm warning. If war is imposed on the country, the nation will respond. It will fight with full strength and steadfastness. The response will be powerful and decisive.
