Web Desk: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday claimed Pakistan achieved victory in “Marka-e-Haq” with divine support and said Field Marshal Asim Munir enjoyed “special blessings” during the conflict.
Speaking at a press conference alongside Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Naqvi said nationwide events were being held to commemorate the military campaign, which he described as a defining moment for Pakistan.
“Pakistan succeeded in Marka-e-Haq with the help of Almighty Allah,” Naqvi said, while praising the armed forces for what he called raising the nation’s prestige.
Naqvi alleged that India deployed small and medium-sized drones toward multiple locations inside Pakistan during the conflict, although he said most were intercepted near the border by Pakistani Rangers.
“Only a limited number of Indian drones entered Pakistani territory,” he said, adding that India also attempted cyberattacks that failed to achieve significant results.
He further claimed drone warfare was used extensively during the conflict, describing it as an unprecedented development in military engagement between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
According to Naqvi, Pakistani drones also operated over areas in New Delhi, including near the residence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, creating what he described as fear among Indian authorities.
At the same time, he said Pakistan avoided targeting civilians, while accusing India of attacking civilian populations inside Pakistan.
“India eventually had to wave white flags,” Naqvi claimed, without providing evidence.
Meanwhile, the interior minister praised Pakistan’s media for what he described as unifying the nation during the conflict.
He said Pakistani media outlets delivered a consistent national message, while accusing Indian media of spreading confusion.
Naqvi also credited Pakistan’s intelligence agencies for playing a central role in “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” saying advance intelligence enabled military preparedness and operational success.
“We were receiving details from India as if it were our own country,” he said, adding that the performance of Pakistan’s intelligence services had surprised even him.
Furthermore, Naqvi claimed India attacked a Pakistani military base shortly before the ceasefire, prompting Pakistan to launch retaliatory strikes against what he described as sensitive targets.
He said Pakistan destroyed one of India’s largest oil depots and had several major military assets, including aircraft and naval installations, within targeting range.
“India moved toward a ceasefire after realizing the scale of potential damage,” he said.
Naqvi also claimed US President Donald Trump helped prevent India from suffering heavier losses during the conflict.
In response to a question about regional diplomacy, Naqvi said he had witnessed shifts in US-Iran relations and expressed confidence in Field Marshal Asim Munir’s diplomatic efforts regarding tensions involving Iran and the United States.
Neither Indian authorities nor independent observers immediately responded to Naqvi’s claims, several of which could not be independently verified.
