A statement from Pakistan women’s national team captain Fatima Sana regarding the Pakistan-India clash in the Women’s Asia Cup has emerged.
Pakistan will face India on September 5 in the Women’s Asia T20 Cup 2026 being held in Dubai. Speaking at the captains’ joint press conference ahead of the Asia Cup, Fatima Sana said, in response to a question, that Pakistan’s match against India is on September 5 and that the team is ready for it.
She said, “Enjoy that day. T20 cricket is such that whoever plays well on the day performs. Our effort will be to play good cricket.”
Responding to a question about The Hundred, the national captain said playing in The Hundred was a good experience and that she learned a lot.
She said representing Pakistan in The Hundred was a great honour for her, and her effort was to perform in a way that would encourage more Pakistani girls to go there and play.
All 15 matches of the tournament will be played at the Dubai International Stadium. The event will begin tomorrow with the match between Thailand and Hong Kong.
The first semi-final of the Women’s Asia T20 Cup will be played on September 10, while the second semi-final will take place on September 11. The final will be played on September 13 at the Dubai International Stadium.
Earlier, the Women’s Asia Cup T20 trophy was unveiled in Dubai. Captains of all eight participating teams attended the ceremony.
The teams participating in the Women’s Asia Cup are Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and hosts United Arab Emirates.
