Defence minister warns of airstrikes

Pakistan Defence minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has warned that in order to safeguard the soverignity of Pakistan and the security of its citizens ,we reserve the right to carry out airstrikes in Afghanistan against TTP and ISKP.

According to Khawaja Asif, attacks in Pakistan are the result of a proxy war involving the Taliban and India. He further stated that Delhi, Kabul, and terrorist groups are all involved in attacks on Pakistan.

The Defense Minister noted that all terrorist groups, including the banned TTP and ISKP, are present in Afghanistan.

He emphasized that attacks on Pakistan cannot occur without the consent or support of the Kabul government. Khawaja Asif also warned that the possibility of war with India still exists.

Ever since the Afghan Taliban came to power in 2021, Pakistan has been demanding that they withdraw their support for TTP and stop providing them safe haven to plan attacks and evade capture. Meanwhile, the TTP has stepped up its attacks.

The Afghan Taliban regime’s refusal to take action against the TTP within Afghanistan is putting Pakistan’s security at risk. The nexus of Dehli and TTP is operating in Pakistan from across the border, targeting innocent civilians and security forces.

Pakistan has provided proofs of Indian sponsered terrorism in Pakistan to the International community and the Afgan regime but Kabul is reluctant to take any measure in this reagrd. This issue has caused serious tensions between the two neighbours in past.
