Following the suicide attack that took place on February 16 at Malangi Post in Bajaur, the Inspector General of Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (North), Imran Sartaj Rao, was seen riding a motorcycle among local residents in the Mamond area of Bajaur,setting an example of confidence and resolve.
Just two days after the cowardly suicide attack on Malangi Post in Bajaur on February 16, the Inspector General Frontier Corps (North), Imran Sartaj Rao, was seen among the public in the Mamond area of Bajaur without any official protocol.
According to reports circulating on social media and from local sources, Major General Imran Sartaj Rao chose to ride a motorcycle instead of traveling in a traditional military convoy to review the security situation and boost public morale.
He was seen moving through the streets and roads of Mamond like an ordinary citizen, which surprised many onlookers. He met the general public,police and the FC personel and appreciated their courage and resiliance.The general public got encouraged to see him amongst themselves.
Residents said that at a time when tension prevailed in the area following the suicide attack, the IG FC’s presence among the people without heavy security demonstrated that the morale of security forces remained high and that they were not intimidated by terrorism.
According to analysts, this move by the senior military leadership sends a clear message to terrorists that the state will not bow down to them. It has also strengthened trust between the local population and the security forces.
