The two parties talked about matters of common interest with a keen interest in building the strength of the defence cooperation through training, modernisation and technical skills.

Speaking on the welcome of the visitors, the Air Chief remarked on the long religious, cultural and historical relationship of Pakistan and Azerbaijan, which he referred to as the roots of their long-lasting brotherly relationship.

He briefed the delegation on the Pakistan Air Force’s ongoing modernisation projects, future force goals, and evolving plans to meet the demands of modern warfare.

The Air Chief assured PAF’s continued support in assisting the Azerbaijan Air Force through capacity building, operational training and strengthening technical and maintenance standards.

Mr Gurbanov praised the professionalism of PAF and acknowledged the progress it has made in indigenisation and advanced aerospace development.

He expressed Azerbaijan’s strong interest in expanding military cooperation, particularly in joint training programmes and knowledge-sharing. Stressing the importance of bilateral exercises, he said such initiatives would improve interoperability, professional skills and mutual learning.

He also emphasised the high interest of Azerbaijan in the development of Multi Domain Operations and stressed that the vast operational experience of PAF is an excellent pattern to follow.

The Azerbaijani side outlined its plan to transform its training system, starting at the academy level and towards the top, and considered the Pakistan Air Force a stable partner towards guiding the change.
