Peshawar: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar on Friday, meeting officers and personnel following a thwarted suicide attack that claimed the lives of three FC constables.

At the headquarters, Naqvi laid flowers at the martyrs’ memorial and offered prayers before inspecting the site of the attempted attack. Senior officials, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed and FC Commandant Nazir Gaara, accompanied him during the visit.

Honoring Fallen Personnel

Naqvi paid tribute to the three FC personnel who were killed while confronting the attackers. He praised their courage, saying the fallen constables sacrificed their lives to foil the terrorists’ “malicious designs.” He added that their bravery would not be forgotten and assured that the government would care for the families of the martyrs “as if they were our own.”

According to briefings given to the minister, FC personnel engaged the militants within minutes and killed all three suicide bombers, preventing a larger tragedy.

Praising Swift Response

Naqvi commended the constabulary’s rapid action, noting that the force confronted “Indian-sponsored terrorists” with remarkable resolve. He said FC constables eliminated the three attackers in about three minutes, calling their response an example of “extraordinary gallantry.”

Furthermore, he emphasized that the sacrifices made by the fallen personnel would not go in vain and that their heroism had set a lasting example for the force.

Reviewing Security Measures

The interior minister also chaired an important meeting at the FC headquarters, where officials briefed him on how the attack was neutralized. Naqvi highlighted the importance of strengthening security protocols to counter emerging threats and lauded the constabulary for its vigilance.

Authorities say investigations are under way, with additional security measures expected as the region faces persistent militant activity.
