According to the Indian magazine The Wire, corruption and electoral manipulation behind the BJP’s victories in state elections have been exposed.

The publication claimed that nearly 10 million names were removed from voter lists in West Bengal, depriving citizens of their right to vote. It further stated that 2.7 million people were excluded on the basis of discrepancies, while questions were also raised over the addition of 600,000 voters after the final list was issued.

The Wire also alleged that extremist groups linked to Modi are preparing to impose a “Gaza-like brutal system” in West Bengal.

The Chief Minister of West Bengal reportedly said, “Muslims in India should be taught the same lesson Israel taught in Gaza. I will not work for Muslims unless they change their religion.”

The report further stated that other BJP chief ministers, including Yogi Adityanath and Himanta Biswa Sarma, have also made anti-Muslim remarks in the past.

The magazine has brought to the limelight the transparency of India’s electoral system and the treatment of minority communities under BJP-led administrations. Opposition parties and human rights activists have repeatedly accused the ruling party of using divisive rhetoric and administrative tactics to suppress dissent and marginalize Muslims.

Political spearheads inside India suggest the revelations by The Wire could intensify scrutiny ahead of upcoming regional elections, as opposition parties demand an independent investigation into voter list revisions and alleged irregularities in the electoral process.
