Lahore: The Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore has extended the interim bail of leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) until April 3 in cases related to the May 9 riots and arson incidents.
According to reports, Judge Arshad Javed heard the case regarding interim bail in multiple cases, including the burning of a Pakistan Muslim League N office and other May 9 violence-related incidents.
Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry appeared before the court and marked his attendance. However, former federal minister Asad Umar, Aleema Khanum, Uzma Khanum, and Azam Khan Swati did not appear before the court.
Nationwide riots had erupted on May 9, 2023 following the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan by the National Accountability Bureau from the premises of the Islamabad High Court.
The party leaders and workers had vandalised military installations and state-owned buildings during the riots.
