India’s ‘digital terrorism’ against Pakistan exposed as major AI forgery uncovered

India digital terrorism and fake narratives against Pakistan

India’s well-planned attempts to malign Pakistan have once again come under scrutiny after a new case of digital disinformation and AI-generated propaganda was reportedly exposed.

According to investigative findings, a fake YouTube account impersonating a well-known Chinese scholar was being used to spread anti-Pakistan content online.

Misuse of Chinese Scholar’s Identity

The controversy surfaced when a YouTube channel appeared under the name of renowned Chinese scholar Professor Jiang Xueqin, often referred to as the “Chinese Nostradamus” due to his analytical predictions. However, investigations revealed that the account was allegedly fake and operated using artificial intelligence-generated voice and facial cloning technology.

Fact-checkers found that the videos uploaded on the channel attempted to portray Pakistan’s economy and armed forces negatively while presenting the content as authentic commentary from the Chinese academic.

AI-Generated Videos and Fake Narratives

Technical analysis reportedly showed that Professor Jiang Xueqin does not operate any official YouTube channel under the impersonated name. His genuine content is published through a different verified platform where he shares lectures and geopolitical analysis.

Investigators claimed that the fake account used AI tools to replicate the scholar’s voice, facial expressions, and speaking style in order to make the fabricated videos appear credible. The manipulated content was then amplified across Indian media and social media platforms to influence international opinion against Pakistan.

Disinformation Networks and Previous Allegations

The report further linked the incident to broader accusations against Indian disinformation networks. It referenced earlier investigations by the European-based “DisInfoLab,” which had uncovered alleged networks of fake media outlets and NGOs involved in anti-Pakistan propaganda campaigns over several years.

According to the report, fake social media accounts and coordinated online narratives have repeatedly been used to target Pakistan through what it described as “hybrid warfare” and “digital terrorism.”

Attempt to Damage Pakistan-China Relations

Analysts cited in the report suggested that the misuse of a Chinese scholar’s identity could also have been aimed at creating mistrust between Pakistan and China, particularly regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and broader bilateral relations.

However, the investigation argued that growing global fact-checking mechanisms and digital verification tools are increasingly exposing such campaigns before they can gain wider credibility.

Concerns Over AI Misuse

The incident has also reignited concerns over the misuse of artificial intelligence for political propaganda and psychological operations. Experts warn that AI-generated deepfakes and cloned identities can easily manipulate public opinion if left unchecked.

The report concluded that despite repeated attempts to spread misinformation, independent investigations and fact-checking efforts continue to challenge fabricated narratives and expose them before used for spreading confusion and fake information.
