In an important Super Eight match of the T20 World Cup, England defeated Pakistan in their second Super Eight game. England successfully chased the target of 165 runs in the final over.


The highlight of England’s innings was Harry Brook’s century off 51 balls.


For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi dismissed four English batsmen, while Usman Tariq and Mohammad Nawaz took two wickets each.


For Pakistan, the top scorer was Sahibzada Farhan, who made 63 runs off 45 balls before getting out.


At the Pallekele Stadium in Sri Lanka on Tuesday, Pakistani captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and decided to bat first, a decision that did not seem ideal at the start of the innings.

Saud Shakeel top-scored for Pakistan with 63 runs. Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam scored 25 runs each, Shadab Khan made 23, Usman Khan scored 8, Saim Ayub 7, captain Salman Agha 5, Shaheen Shah Afridi 2, and Mohammad Nawaz was dismissed without scoring. Salman Mirza remained not out with 2 runs.


For England, Liam Dawson took 3 wickets, while Jofra Archer and Jamie Overton claimed 2 wickets each. Adil Rashid also picked up 1 wicket.
