According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Home Department, Section 144 has been enforced to prevent provocation during Basant. Strict action will be taken against anyone violating Section 144.
The spokesperson further stated that no form of lawlessness will be tolerated during Basant. The use of safety rods on motorcycles will be mandatory in Lahore during the Basant festivities. Under Section 144, vehicles will be checked at entry and exit points of Lahore. A complete ban will be in place on aerial firing and the display of weapons. Besides, Pasting images of sacred religious books, religious places, or any personality on kites is strictly prohibited.
