Hina Javed murder case

New details have emerged in the investigation into the murder of Hina Javed, a married woman whose body was found inside the bathroom of her home in Rawalpindi’s Lal Kurti area on August 20.

According to police, the prime suspect, Hina’s husband Dr Faisal Asghar, allegedly persuaded his 20-year-old employee Zeeshan to assist him in the crime. Investigators allege that Zeeshan helped Faisal tie Hina’s hands and strangle her.

A court has granted police a three-day physical remand of Faisal and Zeeshan. Police said a rope and a wire-cutting tool allegedly linked to the crime have also been recovered from the suspects.

Investigators are expected to conduct DNA tests on both men during their remand.

Police have also included Faisal’s 78-year-old father, Asghar, in the investigation and recorded his statement. During the preliminary investigation, he reportedly spoke about domestic disputes between the couple.

Post-mortem report

Meanwhile, Hina Javed’s post-mortem report has also emerged. The examination was conducted by Dr Maria Khalid around 12 hours after her death.

According to the report, the exact cause of the 45-year-old woman’s death could not initially be determined, and samples taken from the body have been sent to a forensic laboratory for further analysis.

The report noted that Hina had a fractured neck bone as well as injury marks on her ribs and hip. It also found blood accumulation in the heart and lungs due to asphyxiation.

According to preliminary information provided by police to the doctor, Hina was allegedly strangled by her husband. Her body was found with her hands tied and a ligature around her neck in the bathroom of the house.

A murder case has been registered at Civil Lines Police Station on the complaint of Hina’s brother, while further investigation is underway.

Videos of Faisal’s past lectures have also drawn attention during the investigation, as he reportedly discussed examples involving wives being killed by their husbands. Police have not indicated that the lectures themselves constitute evidence in the murder case.
