Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir that hangor’s of 1971 is historic blow of that etched in the enemy’s mind even today.
Pakistan Navy marked Hangor day today in commemoration of the heroic of Submarine Hangover a symbol of unwavering courage and the nation’s indomitable maritime defence.
Marking this occasion, Field Marshal Asim Munir, praised the bravery of Hangor’s crew and said that on December 9, 1971 the crew of Hangor wrote a shining chapter of heroism and courage and that remains etched in the enemy’s mind even today.
He said that during 1971that the Navy was formidable shield at sea and remain an ironclad guardian of the country’s maritime borders. He also added that this historic day reminds the world the world that Pakistan desires peace but stands firm and resolute in safeguarding its sovereignty and defence.
On this occasion, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf said that ongoing advancement in naval capability announcing that eight modern Hangor-class submarine will soon join Pakistan Navy.
