The government has revised the prices of petroleum products amid high surge in petroleum prices in international market owing to tensions in Middle East.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy, the new prices will come into effect from May 1, and an official announcement has been released in this regard.
As per the notification, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs. 19.39 per liter, bringing the new price to Rs. 399.58 per liter.
Similarly, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs. 6.51 per liter, taking the new rate to Rs. 399.86 per liter.
It is worth noting that the govt has extended its subsidy for bike owners and freight service transport for one month in order to minimize the burden of general public.
Moreover, the govt has reassured that the prices will be brought to its previous state once the international market gets stable.
