Google

Web Desk: For editing and video creation Google has introduced a new set of tools. The tool will be present in Google Photos easily accessible throughout iOS and android. Highlight reels can be generated by users by selecting highlight video from the create tab. You can choose clips and photos, letting the app produce a single cohesive video.

The features can rival CapCut and its completely free.

The templates are being rolled out on Android by Google to help users start quickly. These are not normal templates, they include built in texts, cuts, built in music and all of it is synced to a soundtrack. After selecting the media and choosing a template, Google Photo will automatically generate a shareable video. With time more templates will be added.

This is ideal for people who want to make quick posts on social media which do not require sophisticated and deeper edits with professional software.

On both platforms a redesigned editor is now available. This will offer easier navigation and faster performance. It will be introducing a universal timeline that will be supporting storytelling and multi-clip editing and for efficient adjustments an adaptive canvas.

Users will also be available to browse a categorized music library directly to their highlight videos. The feature will both available on both iOS and android.

Custom overlays can also be added to videos by android users. The tool supports colors, multiple fonts and background options to help add context and personalize clips.

The default video editor on android is the refreshed editor. Users can open any video, tap edit, and access tools for adding music, trimming and applying text to individual clips.

The updates are either currently rolling out or available. This gives users expanded options for creating videos within Google photos.
