The increase pushed the price of one tola of gold to Rs471,936, marking a significant rise in the local bullion market.
Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs11,746 to Rs404,609.
The domestic rally came as international gold prices moved higher.
Gold in the global market gained $137 per ounce, taking the international price to $4,495 per ounce.
The simultaneous increase in international and domestic rates points to continued strength in the precious metal market, although local prices can also be influenced by currency movements and other market factors.
For Pakistani consumers and investors, the latest jump raises the cost of buying gold for jewellery, savings and investment purposes.
