Former Afghan cricketer Shapoor Zadran has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital due to a serious medical complication.
The 38-year-old’s condition is said to be critical. His family has also shared updates on social media, requesting fans to pray for his recovery.
Doctors are closely monitoring Shapoor Zadran and providing intensive medical care to stabilize his condition. While no official statement regarding the nature of his health issue has been surfaced, medical teams are making efforts to recover him to his normal condition.
It is worth noting that Shapoor Zadran represented Afghanistan in 44 One Day Internationals, taking 43 wickets, while in 36 T20 matches he claimed 37 wickets. He also had a brief but impactful presence in franchise cricket. Zadran announced his retirement from cricket in 2025.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi has expressed his best wishes for Zadran’s recovery and has offered all possible support.
In a statement on social media, Afridi said he spoke with Zadran’s brother and was deeply saddened to hear about the former cricketer’s condition, praying for his speedy recovery.
