Fact check: Fitna al-Khawarij’s Hangu fort claim denied

⏱ 1 minute read
Security forces deny Hangu fort claim by Fitna al Khawarij

A video circulated on social media yesterday in which Fitna al-Khawarij falsely claimed to have captured a Federal Constabulary (FC) fort in Hangu district.

According to security sources, the claim is misleading and part of an organized propaganda campaign against Pakistan’s security forces.

The sources said the fort was not captured. The location had been temporarily vacant during the rotation of personnel, allowing the militants to briefly enter the premises only to record a video. They fled before security forces arrived.

The fort is currently under the full control of the Pakistan Army, and security personnel have been deployed at the site.

Authorities have urged the public not to fall for hostile propaganda and to avoid sharing unverified claims or misleading videos on social media.
