PESHAWAR: Police have registered a case with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) following the terrorist attack on the Federal Constabulary Headquarters in Peshawar.
According to police, the FIR has been lodged under terrorism charges against unknown militants. The case was filed on the complaint of local SHO Abdullah Jalal.

The FIR states that the terrorists targeted national security and damaged government property. Three motorcycle-borne attackers carried out the assault on the FC Headquarters.
As per the report, one attacker detonated himself at the gate, while two others entered the premises while firing. More than 27 bullet casings were recovered from the scene.
Police added that the attack by the three militants resulted in the martyrdom of three personnel and left eleven others injured.
Initial report reveals how attackers reached FC HQs Gate:
The preliminary report regarding the attack outlined the sequence of the terrorist attack on the FC Headquarters. The report states that one attacker approached the main gate on foot from the Sunehri Masjid Road side. The attacker was draped in a shawl and detonated himself at the checkpoint.
It further mentions that three personnel were martyred on the spot in the suicide blast at the main gate. However, despite the explosion, the gate remained largely undamaged.
Moments after the blast, two more suicide attackers entered through the side gate. Both were carrying rifles and hand grenades. Once inside, they turned right and moved toward the motorcycle stand. According to the report, the terrorists opened fire but were quickly engaged by security personnel. Both attackers were killed just 30 to 40 meters inside the premises.
The police report adds that the militants intended to take officers and other personnel inside the FC Headquarters hostage, as senior officials were present and the area had a high deployment of staff. A parade was also underway at the time.
