The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has scheduled a meeting on March 19 to sight the Shawwal moon.
According to sources, the meeting will be chaired by Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, and will include scholars from all schools of thought, meteorological department officials, and representatives of relevant organizations.
During the meeting, testimonies from across the country regarding the moon sighting will be examined.
Meanwhile, zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meetings will be held in the respective cities to report local moon sightings.
According to SUPARCO, on March 19, at sunset, the moon will be approximately 12 hours and 41 minutes old, so the chances of sighting the Shawwal moon that evening are low. This year, there is a possibility of 30 days of fasting, and Eid-ul-Fitr is expected on March 21.
The final announcement of the Shawwal moon sighting will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
