Two more citizens died due to the deadly spread of the dengue virus in the port city. The provincial Director General (DG) Health said that in the last 24 hours, almost 90 dengue patients got hospitalised in different hospitals of Karachi.
The Director General (DG) Health Sindh also issued a new report on the dengue situation throughout the province.
The DG confirmed that in the last 24 hours, 90 patients of dengue were hospitalised in public hospitals; however, 85 other patients got admitted in Karachi’s private hospitals.
According to the new report by DG Health Sindh, 249 patients are getting treatment in the government hospitals of Karachi. The report revealed that 160 dengue patients are currently under treatment in private hospitals in the metropolis.
The Sindh Health Department also confirmed that almost 556 beds are allocated for dengue patients in the private hospitals. On the other hand, 220 beds are reserved for patients of the same disease in the private hospitals.
At the same time, the health department Sindh said that 167 beds are reserved for dengue patients in the public hospitals in Hyderabad. The health department mentioned that 38 testing laboratories are operational in Karachi, while 19 laboratories are active in Hyderabad.
4598 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours across the province, the health department noted.

The District Health Authority in Rawalpindi has released its performance report on Dengue this year. According to the report, 14,311 people have been tested for dengue so far, out of which 972 dengue cases have been confirmed. 24 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours.
