Civilians facing mass executions as Sudan civil war intensifies

El Fasher: In war-torn Sudan, reports have emerged of mass executions of innocent civilians as violence intensifies by Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

According to foreign news agencies, the situation in El Fasher has turned catastrophic following its capture by the RSF. Fierce clashes continue between the Sudanese army and RSF fighters in western Kordofan, resulting in thousands of civilians being killed or going missing.

U.S. media reported that RSF fighters have been storming homes and assaulting residents. Earlier reports indicated that over 1,700 people were killed in a single day in El Fasher in what appeared to be acts of ethnic cleansing.

The brutal conflict for control of Sudan has raged for two years, claiming around 40,000 lives and displacing more than 14 million people, creating one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.

Following the RSF’s takeover of El Fasher, reports of large-scale killings, sexual violence, and other atrocities have surfaced. Around 177,000 civilians remain trapped in the city, unable to flee to safer areas, as RSF forces continue ethnically targeted attacks that have left thousands dead.
