Beijing: China has announced visa-free entry for citizens of the United Kingdom and Canada.
According to foreign media reports, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this facility will take effect from Tuesday and will remain in place until December 31.
Reports say this development follows recent visits to Beijing by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, during which both leaders met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other senior officials, agreeing to strengthen bilateral relations.
Chinese authorities said that holders of ordinary UK and Canadian passports will be able to stay in China for up to 30 days without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange programs, or transit purposes.
The move aims to promote people-to-people connections and enhance public-level interactions.
