Islamabad: After cars, the government has decided to introduce M-Tags for motorcycles as well. The M-Tag campaign will begin during Ramadan on February 20, 2026.
According to sources, the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad stated that motorcycle owners will be able to obtain M-Tags starting February 20. To get an M-Tag, motorcycle documents and a valid ID card will be mandatory. This campaign will apply to all types of motorcycles, including standard bikes, scooters, heavy bikes, and others.
The district administration reported that over 600,000 cars have already been issued M-Tags, and separate registration for bikes and online taxi services is also ongoing.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Islamabad has directed the Additional Deputy Commissioner (East) to coordinate with the stakholders in order to ensure a swift pace in this regared.
