WEBDESK: One of the world’s fastest marathons, the Berlin Marathon, will be held tomorrow on Sunday.
More than 17 Pakistani runners, including overseas Pakistanis, will take part in the race. Among them is Zeeshan Rubb, a Denmark-based runner of Pakistani origin, who will be competing in his 41st career marathon.
From Karachi, Mustafa Jaffer, Adeel Sardar and Kamran Lakhani will also be participating, while Hina Shaukat and Kaukab Sarwar are part of the women’s line-up from Pakistan.
The 51st edition of the Berlin Marathon will see thousands of athletes from 150 countries competing, making it one of the most prestigious events on the international athletics calendar.
On the other hand Arshad Nadeem couldn’t win a medal for his country in the World Athletics Championship being held in Tokyo, Japan.
Pakistani fans were expecting him to repeat his heroics from the 2024 Paris Olympics, but he couldn’t replicate the record-breaking performance that helped him win a gold medal and break the Olympic record with a gigantic throw of 92.97m.
A mouthwatering contest was expected between Arshad Nadeem and his arch-rival from India, Neeraj Chopra. But neither of them could live up to the expectations. Arshad was placed at 10th position overall, and Neeraj stood at 8th.
