According to various reports, Apple is preparing to introduce the biggest iPhone update in its history in September 2026, with the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple’s first foldable iPhone expected to be unveiled.
Although Apple has not officially confirmed these plans, multiple sources, including Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, say the company is working on next-generation iPhones, foldable devices, and new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered products.
Reports suggest Apple’s annual launch event could take place on September 8 or 9, 2026, while the United Arab Emirates is expected to be among the first countries where pre-orders for the new iPhones will begin immediately after the event. Deliveries to customers are expected to start on September 18.
Sources say Apple may introduce its iPhone lineup in two phases this time. In the first phase, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone are expected to be launched, while the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and the next-generation iPhone Air could be introduced in early 2027.
Regarding the design, reports indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro series will largely resemble current models, but may feature a larger camera module, a more powerful battery, an improved vapor chamber cooling system, and new colors, including Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Silver, and Dark Gray.
According to reports, after years of speculation, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is also expected to be unveiled at the same event. The device is said to feature a stronger hinge, improved durability, and a greater focus on delivering a premium user experience. It is expected to be marketed as a premium model alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series.
A major price increase is also expected. According to Nabila Popal, Senior Director for Data and Analytics at IDC, rising production costs could increase the price of the iPhone 18 Pro series by up to $200, making it Apple’s most expensive mainstream iPhone lineup to date.
Reports also suggest the iPhone 18 Pro may feature a new 2-nanometer A20 Pro chip, an improved camera system, variable aperture technology, more advanced Face ID, a smaller Dynamic Island, and better battery life.
