ABBOTABAD: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army remains fully determined to defend the motherland and will respond strongly to any form of external aggression.
He was addressing a special interactive session with university teachers and students in Abbottabad, where he discussed the overall security situation in the country, recent tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, the “Ma’raka-e-Haq” operation, and ongoing counterterrorism measures.
A large number of teachers and students participated in the session. The DG ISPR highlighted that Pakistan has taken effective steps against terrorism and extremist elements, emphasizing that the armed forces are steadfast in safeguarding national sovereignty.
Participants paid rich tribute to the martyrs and veterans of the nation. On the occasion, Hazara University Vice Chancellor Dr. Ikramullah Khan said that the Pakistan Army truly embodies patriotism, always standing on the frontlines in defense of the country, and that the academic community stands firmly beside it.
Teachers expressed concern over hostile elements attempting to mislead the youth through disinformation campaigns. They stressed the importance of providing students with accurate and verified information to counter propaganda and rumors.
Students shared that the session helped them gain a clear understanding of the army’s role, national and provincial issues, and the misinformation often spread on social media. One student remarked, “The DG ISPR’s answers dispelled our doubts and helped us understand the real picture of national security.”
