Web Desk: Awami National Party Provincial General Secretary Shah Hussain Yousafzai has levelled serious corruption allegations against provincial minister Mina Khan, claiming that he sold each doctor’s post for Rs1.5 million while sitting in the Chief Minister’s House.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar alongside other party leaders, Yousafzai alleged that the recruitment of 1,400 doctors on one-year contracts was marred by large-scale irregularities. He claimed that around Rs2.1 billion was allegedly collected through the sale of these posts within just three to four days.
He further alleged that the recruitment process was manipulated, depriving highly qualified and specialised doctors of employment while appointing candidates with comparatively weaker academic records.
Yousafzai said that a merit list had initially been uploaded to the recruitment portal, and candidates still possess screenshots of it. However, he claimed the original results were later removed from the portal and replaced with altered records in which marks were allegedly written in pencil and signatures made with a marker to favour selected individuals.
Referring to the provincial government’s claims of transparency, “Naya Pakistan” and “Riyasat-e-Madina,” the ANP leader questioned where the promise of a corruption-free Pakistan had gone.
He challenged Mina Khan to publicly deny the allegations under oath, saying that if the minister did so, he would quit politics. However, he added that if he produced witnesses to support the alleged bribery, the public would see the minister’s “true face.”
No response from Minister Mina Khan or the provincial government was included in the original report. The allegations remain unverified.
