The Lahore High Court has set aside the decision to register a case against Ramsha, sister of actress Momina Iqbal.
Justice Abhar Gul of the Lahore High Court announced the reserved verdict on an appeal filed by Ramsha Iqbal.
It may be recalled that Ramsha Iqbal had challenged the sessions court’s decision ordering the registration of a case against her before the High Court.
During an earlier hearing, the lawyer for MPA Saqib Chadhar told the court that Rs8 million had been deposited into Ramsha Iqbal’s bank account at different times.
The court asked whether the money had been given as a loan or deposited as a gesture of friendship.
The lawyer said Ramsha Iqbal was planning to travel abroad and the money had been deposited for her bank statement. He added that actress Momina Iqbal had been engaged to Saqib Chadhar.
The court asked whether any written agreement had been made regarding the money that had been sent.
The lawyer said the money had been given as a deposit for safekeeping and not as a loan.
Ramsha Iqbal’s stance was that the money being referred to had been withdrawn from her bank account in 2022.
