Web desk: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced on Saturday that the timings of Asia Cup 2025 matches have been changed.
The decision was taken to give players and fans smoother conditions, with possible weather disruptions noted as an important factor.
What is the new start time for Asia Cup 2025
According to the ACC, all matches will now begin at 6:30PM UAE time, which is 7:30PM in Pakistan.
The earlier schedule had games starting at 6:00PM.
Doubleheader on September 15
On September 15, two matches will take place.
- UAE will face Oman in Abu Dhabi at 4:30PM local time.
- Later the same day, Sri Lanka will play Hong Kong in Dubai, starting at 6:30PM.
Why is the Asia Cup 2025 changing
The ACC said the new timings would help ensure better conditions for both players and spectators. Organisers added that the revised schedule would also make it easier for fans to watch more than one match in a single day.
What is the tournament format for Asia Cup 2025
The 15th edition of the men’s Asia Cup will be played in the T20I format. Eight teams are taking part in total.
- Group A includes Pakistan, India, UAE and Oman.
- Group B features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong.
The tournament begins on September 9 at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, where Afghanistan will play Hong Kong in the opening match.
